What are CBD concentrates?
A CBD concentrate is any product that concentrates the resin of hemp flower, the part rich in cannabinoids and terpenes, into a more potent form. Because the resin is separated from the bulk of the plant material, concentrates typically carry a higher CBD percentage by weight than loose flower. They come in many forms, each made differently.
The main types of CBD concentrate
Kief and pollen

Hash

Static sift
The newest name on a UK concentrate menu, and one of the most misunderstood. Static sift is dry sift refined with static electricity, which strips plant debris away from the trichome heads. A peer-reviewed study in 2025 measured first-pass purity at 80–95% intact heads against 40–50% for conventional dry sift.
Piatella
Full-melt ice-water hash, vacuum-sealed and cold-cured at 4–10 °C for four to six weeks. No press and no heat involved at any stage. Piatella is one of the most expensive things on a European hash menu, and a great deal of what is sold under the name is not really it.
Rosin
Solventless, using heat and pressure alone. Press buds and you get flower rosin; press hash and you get hash rosin, which is far cleaner and several times the price. The economics are unforgiving — total return from fresh-frozen material to finished rosin runs about 3 to 5%.
Moonrocks and hash rocks

How concentrates compare to flower
